Your disco needs you – noughties 00s club drink photography + motion

Creative projects

Inspired by the joy-filled clubbing of my youth, 2000-2007, with mirror ball backgrounds, coloured light play and maximalist styling.

For this kitsch, retro project I let myself create exactly what my heart desired, without worrying about any commercial application. The result was a fever dream of light, colour, sparkle and euphoria. I couldn't be more happy with it.

The lighting is dark, but still clean and glossy, with rainbow colours and splashes of neon, pink and gold.

For the colour-tinted shots, I used a range of coloured gels with a two-light set up to create fun, stylised light effects, some looped together in a GIF to create a clubbing atmosphere.

The glowing star effect was created by raking flash lighting across a metallic, holographic background. Extra sparkle from a star lens filter.

Stylish, boozy props and cocktails hint at celebration and youthful joy.

Retouching emphasised the drama and graphic quality of the images, as well as adding a slick, high quality polish.

La disco a besoin de vous!
