Christmas food photography – Brussels sprouts Christmas tree with Maldon salt snow

Creative projects

In this Christmas food photography shoot I wanted to make a fun, colourful winter scene crafted from food.

The tree is built from lightly cooked Brussels sprouts – a celebration of seasonal Christmas vegetables.

The scene looks artistic and stylised, but still deliciously edible, with texture from the natural sprouts, glossy melted butter and flaky sea salt.

Dynamic movement here comes from real Maldon sea salt drifting through the air and dusting the tree with ‘snow’.

The colours are bold and analogous, with cool tones that signal snowy, winter light.
