Close up macro chocolate photography – chocolate milkshake, chocolate bars + caramel chocolates

Creative projects

Rich, warm chocolate shot with bright, clean light. Strong contrast to enhance shape, texture and brand lettering.

Chilled Cadbury chocolate, straight from the fridge, with the finest possible layer of condensation. Glossy, oozy caramel chocolates captured close up. The thick, creamy swirl of a fresh chocolate milkshake.

I am in love with the details that I find on otherwise unremarkable ingredients when they are shot up close, using high resolutions and targeted lighting to bring out all their most interesting features.

There is a special skill to lighting and shooting macro photography – the scene is dramatically reduced in size, so the set up needs to reflect that. Crafting the light to gently skim these tiny subjects ensures all their texture, shape and colour is perfectly enhanced. Precision food styling means every tiny drop and crumb are carefully placed for the strongest final result.

With macro food photography, you can focus in on beautiful details and highlight mouth-watering product qualities.
